  • Rev. Scott Wheeler - Lead Pastor

    Pastor Scott loves people, and his main goal in life is to be "Jesus with skin on!" He would like to see Kannapolis and the surrounding areas changed for the better. Some of his loves behind Jesus are singing, playing golf, and spending time with his family. Pastor Scott is married to Selina Wheeler.  They have three children and one grandchild.  Scott graduated from Southern Wesleyan University with his Bachelor's and then got his Master's degree from Gordon-Conwell University. He has been in ministry now for almost twenty years and is excited to see what God has in store for Kannapolis First Wesleyan in the future!

  • Rev. Selina Wheeler - Connections & Discipleship Pastor

    Rev. Selina Wheeler serves as our Connections & Discipleship Pastor.  She is excited about helping people connect with the church, with each other, and most of all, with Jesus Christ.  Selina desires for everyone to have a growing relationship with the Lord.  She has served in ministry for the past 16 1/2 years as a Children's Pastor.  Selina and her husband, Scott have three children - Jonathan, Zachary, and Mallory, and one grandchild, Charlotte.  She and Scott enjoy spending time together with their family and friends, as well as working together.

  • Rev. Michael Covington - Assistant Pastor

    Michael's ministry passions are evangelism and discipleship encompassing all ages. Michael has been actively engaged in bi-vocational ministry for over twenty years. He was ordained in 1997. He and Mary Ellen are the proud parents of three adult children: Elizabeth who serves as the Children’s Pastor at Hayworth (High Point), Hannah who serves as the Connections Pastor at United (Charlotte) and Steven who is a Residency Pastor at 12Stone (Lawrenceville) all within The Wesleyan Church. Michael enjoys traveling, boating and good "discussion". He holds a Masters in Ministry from Southern Wesleyan University and a Masters of Practical Theology from Wesley Seminary (Indiana Wesleyan). In addition to serving the local church, he provides pulpit supply within the NC West District.

  • Chaplain Wallie Kincaid - Visitation Pastor

    Wallie is our newest staff member at First Wesleyan Church.  Wallie heads up our visitation ministry, visiting those in the hospital and nursing homes, as well as checking up on congregation members who have been sick or had surgery.  Additionally, Wallie leads our DivorceCare Ministry.  Wallie is passionate about people.  He takes regular trips up to his home state of West Virginia to minister to underprivileged kids and deliver supplies to them. He and his wife, Sylvia, have three children and 11 grandchildren.
